Torre Colimena (Torre Colimena frazione di Manduria - TA). Esternamente è facilmente accessibile e visitabile tutto l'anno, internamente è visitabile su richiesta anche per vedere la collezione di vasi in ceramica risalenti al XVI - XVIII secolo. Il Salento è costellato da torri di avvistamento visto che da sempre è stato oggetto di numerosi attacchi da parte di diverse popolazioni del Mediterraneo. Non sappiamo quale fu il primo periodo in cui furono costruite tali torri, talune potrebbero anche riferirsi all'età normanna, ma non vi sono prove certe. Per l'aspetto attuale, la maggior parte delle torri costiere ancora oggi presenti sono da riferire al XV e XVI secolo. Molte di tali torri risultano oggi in pessime condizioni, mentre una buona parte sono state restaurate intorno al 2012 per scopi turistici ed escursionistici. Alcune di queste (per esempio Torre San Gennaro, Torre San Cataldo, Torre Palascia, Torre Badisco, Torre Santa Maria di Leuca) sono state completamente distrutte e sono state inserite nell'itinerario solo per motivi storici. L'itinerario completo è lungo circa 400km, si può percorrere a piedi, in bicicletta e in auto. Alcune torri sono rimaste l'unico elemento architettonico in mezzo alla natura, altre sono state inglobate in frazioni o località che portano il loro nome.
