La macchina non sarebbe nata per la fotografia naturalistica di questo tipo (primi piani/ritratti), ma per "astronomia" e documentazione naturalistica, cioè individuare soggetti lontani per identificarli, non certo per riprenderli in maniera tecnicamente accettabile. Con 1200 euro potresti avere una reflex (non eccelsa) ed un obiettivo tipo 150-600 ma neanche dei migliori. Certamente riprenderesti meglio soggetti vicini, ma arriveresti al massimo a 900mm equivalenti (col fattore di crop di un'eventuale macchina DX). Questa arriva a 3000; i risultati fanno schifo? Sì. Ma con la reflex vedresti un puntino laddove con questa identifichi la specie, l'età e il sesso (almeno un birdwatcher bravo)... ;-)

Diciamo che si potevano avere risultati migliori con una post-produzione più oculata. Per esempio non capisco cos'è quel contorno scuro attorno al soggetto.
Poi, non so a quanti mm sia stato eseguito lo scatto, ma mi sembra che con questa macchina 1/500 sia un tempo a rischio.
Consiglierei poi di preferire al ritrattone scatti con un po' più di frame attorno al soggetto. Sempre considerata la macchina, naturalmente.
Come spiega Fele, è un ottimo strumento per documentazione naturalistica, consente di identificare soggetti troppo lontani per attrezzature migliori ma che si fermano a circa 900 mm.
