Dopo oltre 20 anni l'ho ricomprato trovando un esemplare eccellente: meccanica fluida, lenti immacolate, lamelle diaframma centrate, scattanti e pulite. Condividendo la quasi totalità dei commenti di chi mi ha preceduto, passo brevemente a commentare le impressioni che mi ha (ri)suscitato quest'ottica. Per dovere di cronaca preciso che il mio obiettivo ha le 7 lamelle del diaframma già dritte ma non ancora il trattamento antiriflesso SIC che verrà poi impiegato a partire dalla matricola 103XXX. Al tatto, con la sua massa in poco volume, restituisce immediatamente una sensazione di costruzione robusta e bilanciata. La meccanica è fantastica, fluida e precisa con la ghiera di messa a fuoco che con i suoi 140° di rotazione consente misurazioni precise (ma anche impietose...). Negli scatti saltano subito agli occhi: l'estrema nitidezza su tutto il fotogramma anche a f2,5 e la stessa anche ad infinito (cosa non scontata per una ottica votata ai ritratti e quindi con uso prevalente alle brevi-medie distanze) e la mancanza di vignettatura. I colori risultano molto naturali, mai esagerati come in alcune ottiche moderne. A mio avviso, vista la sua buona luminosità relativa, il suo impiego ottimale è dalla max apertura fino a f 4,5: ne deriva un notevole stacco dei piani ed uno sfocato a mio parere bellissimo, quasi sognante. Solo quando si adopera per paesaggistica o architettura converrà chiuderlo un altro po' per una maggiore p.d.c. ed un lieve aumento di contrasto. A partire da f 5,6 nei punti luminosi fuori fuoco si comincia a notare la forma geometrica del diaframma. Nonostante il comodissimo paraluce incorporato, bisogna evitare di inserire sorgenti di luce nell'inquadratura pena un marcato riflesso ad arco ed un conseguente calo di contrasto. A proposito di quest'ultimo, è presente sotto forma di micro-contrasto specie nei dettagli fini e concorre notevolmente alla nitidezza delle immagini. Ai diaframmi più aperti, nei piccoli dettagli fuori fuoco che si stagliano netti su fondi omogenei possono comparire aberrazioni-sfrangiature cromatiche di sferocromatismo. Lasciamo ora la parola alle immagini: come al solito, in linea con le altre prove che ho pubblicato, non sono intervenuto su alcun parametro (nitidezza, saturazione, contrasto etc...) limitandomi solo alla conversione da RAW a Jpeg con il programma proprietario Nikon NX-D. L'ottica è stata usata con una Nikon D610.
