Oggi, con l'inizio dell'equinozio di primavera, voglio omaggiarvi con queste immagini. Le Madonie segrete, viste con gli occhi di chi le studia e le ama. Il protagonista è il bellissimo allocco (Strix aluco), un rapace notturno ed il guardiano silenzioso del sottobosco, attualmente emette il suo canto particolare, utilizzato per la stagione dell'accoppiamento, in seguito vi mostrerò la coppia insieme ed il canto. Il maschio si differenzia sia dal canto che richiama un ululato e dalle dimensioni, la femmina è leggermente più grande, il colore è più aranciato ed emette un canto più stridulo e acuto. La storia... Che dire, trovarlo non è stato per niente facile: ci ho impiegato ben 8 ore, divise in due giorni. Anche se si trovava vicino a me, la sua mimetizzazione con la vegetazione circostante ha reso il tutto davvero complicato. Nonostante il suo richiamo melodioso, non riuscivo a individuarlo. Ma proprio quando stavo per arrendermi, stanco e demoralizzato, è successo qualcosa di straordinario. Sembrerà strano, ma vi assicuro che è tutto vero: una coccinella è salita sulla mia macchina fotografica. Così, alzandomi e cambiando prospettiva, finalmente sono riuscito a individuare questo meraviglioso rapace.
