Hello Luke, congratulations ..
I find this very beautiful your picture of one of my favorite views of the Upper ;-) (http://www.juzaphoto.com/me.php?pg=19856&l=it # fot190739)
I saw that you used the ISO very high and in fact it seems to me that the D5100 does not behave so bad in these conditions ..
I had chosen instead of "sin" in the opposite direction, trying to keep down the ISO and lengthening the time although sometimes the result, taking too freehand, was an inevitable moved! :-D

Hello Ermanno! Your compliments make me very happy and I'm amazed! In a sense, I would have to ship them before ... I do not know how many times I was in front of your photos, especially those in the States! They are really beautiful! :-D I have certainly inspired before embarking on my trip!
All 'Antelope Canyon I had the tripod with me but in the end, with all the crowd that was there, I decided not to use it and then high ISO! I trusted the reviews on the D5100 that spoke of a good yield in these conditions and in fact I was not disappointed!
Thanks again and if you have any tips and critiques are all ears! :-D Hello!
Luca

Imagine Luke! .. When I went there (2010) I was ignorant of this forum if I did not like you! :-)
Regarding the advice then, not being a "tiles" of the photo, the limit I can give you anything on only compositional ..! :-D
I'm in the States I have not brought the tripod and certainly nell'Antelope, given the situation that I found and then that is what you have described you well, I've missed! :-D
Hello and good light Luke! ;-)

I like it, appreciated the attempt to keep direct light out of the frame, which allowed you to avoid the burnt parts, (also applies to the previous step), the choice of using ISO quite high, albeit risky seems to have been successful , the noise is very limited.
Compliments.

Thanks Mauro, already in effect, all the other pictures of the place are ISO low, much lower. I could dare with a little more time, but the high iso I think are mainly due to the fact that we entered the canyon rather early in the morning, so there was little light! In fact, I could not see the incoming light beam as you photographed yourself.
However, to be photos taken at ISO 2000-2500 I would say that you can stand! The D5100 also why I chose it! :-)
