All'interno del cortile del Palazzo del Bo, la sede storica dell'Università di Padova. Fondata nel 1222 da un gruppo di studenti provenienti dalla preesistente Università di Bologna, il suo motto recita: "Universa Universis Patavina Libertas" (tutta, per tutti, la libertà nell'Università padovana), per sottolineare l'aspirazione ad una maggiore libertà accademica. All'Università di Padova afferisce l'Orto Botanico padovano, sito nei pressi del Prato della Valle, il più antico al mondo (1545). Il primo Teatro Anatomico al mondo, pilastro degli studi della patologia moderna (1595). La prima Biblioteca Universitaria in Italia, nella Sala dei Giganti all'interno del Palazzo Liviano (1629). La prima donna laureata al mondo (Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia, della nobile famiglia veneziana Corner, 1678). Unica Università italiana ad essere insignita della Medaglia d'Oro al Valor Militare per le sue attività a favore della liberazione dal nazifascismo. Chiunque si recasse a visitare Padova dovrebbe programmare una visita a questa straordinaria, storica, istituzione.
