War is like that, we witness these heinous gestures, and perhaps in retrospect they horrify us.
My maternal grandfather, a professional soldier, had fought in two wars, and at the end they gave him the rank of Captain of the Carabinieri. After witnessing so much suffering of his fellow soldiers, even their death after a long agony, he indignantly refused the offer.
Yet we have already forgotten the lesson, after only eighty years we are once again applying to the culture of violence and death. And we are getting used to it.
Have a good life My friend, and Happy New Year

An excellent document not to forget, bravo Loris.
My father was a partisan and deported at the age of 18; fortunately he managed to return; I keep with great care his memories and his awards, which I have often shown to my students; sometimes, when he was still well, he even came to school, even if he never wanted to talk about what he suffered.
Thank you for this proposal, happy new year!
Elizabeth

Tireless Adelmo in continuously reminding everyone of the terrible and barbaric tragedy that struck his family

Unfortunately, we always fall into the same mistakes... I don't have much faith in the future...
