Nice specimen. If I may allow myself a couple of questions: - how far away were you? - Is there any glass or protective nets in that butterfly house? A warm greeting Bell'esemplare.

Inside the Milano Marittima greenhouse, all butterflies fly free. Only the huge Attacus atlas is kept in a small house and shown to the public on request. I don't remember how far away I was from the numilia. Some species landed on leaves at 3 meters, others at eye level. I had brought a tripod but with the comings and goings of people they often stayed still only for a few seconds and so I did hunting photography freehand. In the insect house next door there are large exotic arthropods closed in display cases, but they are rooms left in semi-darkness and with the flash bouncing off the glass of the cages, photographing there is not really the best. There is also a greenhouse dedicated to local butterflies, but after seeing the giants of tropical countries, macaone and vanesse disfigure. :-D Hi, thank you.
