ricia agestis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)- Famiglia Lycaenidae Sottofamiglia Polyommatinae- Apertura alare: Da 2,2 a 2,5 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutte le regioni, isole comprese, ad eccezione della Sardegna. - Habitat: Prati e ampie radure di norma dalla pianura fino a 900 m., ma sugli Appennini è stata segnalata localmente fino a 1700 m. - Periodo di volo: Polivoltina con tre generazioni che si susseguono da marzo a settembre. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Geraniacee e specie dei generi Helianthemum ed Erodium. - Dimorfismo sessuale: Sessi simili, ma le femmine presentano sul diritto delle ali lunule marginali arancioni più grandi e vistose. - Variazioni: Le dimensioni delle macchie arancioni sul diritto delle ali possono essere molto variabili in entrambi i sessi. In alcuni individui ed in alcune popolazioni i maschi possono non avere le macchie arancioni sul diritto delle ali anteriori. In alcuni esemplari può mancare il carattere della posizione dei punti neri descritto per distinguere questa specie dalle altre licenidi.
