Uxmal is located in an area characterized by hills, known in Maya Puuc: this term will give the name to the architectural style of the region that is known to be characterized by the use of mosaics (with tiles that can also arrive at one meter length) and decorations that adorn the top of the buildings. Usually these buildings were divided into two sections, the lower and upper unadorned variously decorated.

@ Francoia
Hello dear Franco!
maybe the light will not you just helped but the nikon has done his duty

The light was my nightmare (photo) for the duration of the trip .... changed continuously and passed by a grayed-out stupid in a dazzling turquoise. These last shots I posted were done, I believe, over two hours and the light is always different.
Luckily my "baby" ;-) was superb and helped the photographer .... even when wrong! :-D
Thanks Franco! :-P

Big "Archaeology", definitely places to chill for their beauty.
These buildings still arouse great emotion.
Very well made the other two views of architecture.

@ Casanovami
Hello Mark!
I agree that Uxmal is the most popular website special ... at least among those that I have visited ;-) I was really surprised and I can not explain it to be put in second place, and in fact, for example, at Chichen Itza ... In short, I agree with you on this as on the fact that the Nunnery Quadrangle is spectacular .... I would gladly have spent some more time there, given the amount of detail to admire.
Ciaooo Mark and thank you for sharing this picturetion trip!
Michela

PS:
but you were always on the bus?

:-D:-D:-D
Also no! .... Or maybe you wanted to say that I have come better than the pictures from the bus? :-D ;-):-D

Hello Adolfo! :-)
These are shots that may be of interest or not (including captions ;-)) but the fact that you write to me that they feel a
visual and cultural contribution
fills me with joy!
Bringing together two of my passions, such as archeology and photography, for me it was great:-P
Thanks and a greeting carissimissimo you! ;-)

Beautiful image, Michela, an archaeological site that is imprinted in my mind and heart. Great captions and explanations that allow, to those who have never been to these places, to better understand the history and customs of the Mayan people. Hello Koda59.

Hello Koda!
These places actually, once visited, not only remain in the memories but leave an indelible trace of emotion.
Thank you very much also for having enjoyed my attempt to tell as well as with the images with the words these places and this precisely in order to share my experience beyond that of mere cultural trip.
Thanks again and a salutoneee! :-P
