This is the weirdest place I've ever seen and spectacular ... the fiery crater of Darvaza, in Turkmenistan!
In the 70s, during some drilling for natural gas extraction, there was an explosion that created a crater 70 meters wide and 30 deep. Not being able to stem the huge gas leak, it was decided to set him on fire, believing that it would be sold out within a few days. It's been over 40 years and still Darvaza of the flame continues to burn ... this place was sopprannominato 'The Gates of Hell' for the flames that burn for ever, the heat that is given off and the smell of gas is truly a vision of unimaginable ...

Bhè dire suggestivo è poco...deve essere davvero impressionante dal vivo!!!! Come al solito le tue foto rendono molto bene l'idea della scena, molto molto bella la prospettiva ed i colori caldi del fuoco a contrasto con i toni freddi del cielo. Sì, però è poco salutare, sopratutto quando c'è vento...spesso arrivano folate di gas ardente e in un attimo diventa impossibile respirare perchè l'aria è totalmente satura di gas e supera i 100 gradi...mi sono cotto per fare questa foto :-)
Cercavo di fare gli scatti tra una 'vampata' e l'altra, tentendomi pronto a correre via quando arrivava il gas ardente.
A parte questo ovviamente bisogna fare attenzione a non caderci dentro perchè sarebbe morte certa...

Yes, but it is unhealthy, especially when it's windy ... often arrive gusts of burning gas and in a moment it becomes impossible to breathe because the air is completely saturated with gas and over 100 degrees ... I cooked for make this picture :-)
I was trying to make shots from a 'burst' and the other, tentendomi ready to run away when it came to burning gas.
Apart from that obviously you have to be careful not to fall into it because it would be certain death ... " Ma ci si puo' avvicinare cosi' tanto?"
