Ci incontriamo nella bella casa vacanze gestita dai suoi figli a più di 1200 metri di altitudine. Con aria piuttosto routinaria, mi conduce nella sala dedicata alle sue opere, convinto che sia ciò che mi interessi. Do uno sguardo a quei grandi tronchi ed alle scene di vita semplice e rurale che essi riproducono, poi gli dico: "Bellissimo, ma dov'è che le realizza?". Lui rimane un po' spiazzato e mi risponde che non ne vale la pena saperlo, che è una topaia lì vicino in cui nessuno vuole mai andare. " No", gli faccio... " è proprio ciò che mi interessa vedere".
