A formidable predator with a not idyllic appearance, but portrayed very well in this fs.

It is certainly an Asilidae, but not Craboniformis (it is yellow-orange in color with a more pointed abdomen); Still great photo.

(It's definitely an Asilidae, but not Craboniformis (it's yellow-orange with a sharper abdomen); still great photo.) The yellow-orange color is variable and the abdomen does not thermia pointy because it is a male.

Good FS, nice to see these little predators up close. Whether it is an Asilus crabroniformis, it is really difficult to say, have you had the subject determined?, or are you a researcher? When in doubt, Asilus s.p.

I find this image very successful, excellent light management, beautiful composition and management of the FS which, although it was done with a tripod, is very sharp and without halos!
