Dopo cinque anni di osservazioni pazienti e appassionate sui nibbi reali, ho finalmente avuto l'opportunità di ammirarne trenta in un momento di pura bellezza e grazia. Stavo osservando il cielo sopra le Madonie, in Sicilia, una delle aree più affascinanti per la fauna selvatica, e ho visto questi magnifici uccelli prendere la scia delle correnti ascensionali. Era uno spettacolo straordinario: i nibbi planavano leggeri, sfruttando le termiche per librarsi in volo con una maestria che solo la natura può insegnare. In Sicilia, abbiamo circa 60 individui di questa specie affascinante, e gran parte della popolazione si concentra proprio qui, nelle Madonie. Mentre osservavo, sentivo una connessione profonda con queste creature, un richiamo alla meraviglia che solo il volo può evocare.
