Quella che osservate non è una rievocazione storica. Non c'è rappresentazione artificiale, né finzione alcuna. E' l'interno di una Bottega artigianale attiva e vivace, che sembra aver attraversato immune le stagioni del tempo. Custodita tra i vicoli ardenti di una Ragusa Ibla in cui puoi ormai imbatterti in qualunque lingua del mondo, costituisce la materializzazione dei desideri di due giovani uomini, che in essa hanno riversato il meglio delle loro energie e conoscenze artistiche e la profonda devozione per la storia del carretto siciliano. Biagio, il più grande, è stato adolescente sul finire degli anni 80, quando ormai l'immaginario giovanile era popolato dal mito della moto e il carretto già relegato ad un passato rurale da cui ci si voleva quanto più in fretta emancipare e il cui riverbero era confinato ai racconti degli anziani. Eppure, la sua gioventù fu invece segnata dall'incontro con questo antico mezzo di trasporto. Delle parole che ci siamo scambiati, a rimanermi particolarmente impressa è una sua frase: "quando l'ho visto passare la prima volta per le vie del mio paese, pensai che fosse un monumento pronto a sfilare perché tutti potessero godere della sua bellezza ". ______________________________________________ Ragusa Ibla (RG);
