#wild 12.08.2024 Sumatra Jungle, Gunung Leuser National Park. One of the most extreme undertakings we have ever faced, a long trek up and down in the wildest Jungle in search of Orang-utans. Prohibitive climatic conditions, fatigue, leeches, humidity everywhere...but then at the sight of them everything passes. A species at risk of extinction where their habitat is surrounded by oil palm plantations as far as the eye can see. The protection of this great Primate should be a priority, but it doesn't seem so. Tourism itself should be controlled in the same way as the Gorillas in Uganda. The future of Orang-utans is unfortunately in our hands.

An extraordinary meeting, sought after and "sweaty" but I think your effort has been amply rewarded.
Beautiful and tender image. In the gaze of the mother orangutan it almost seems to grasp the uncertainty of a future that, as you say, unfortunately depends on man... :-P

Thank you very much everyone, I apologize for the many comments lost in previous versions... but I tried to improve the shot several times during development
