Capita spesso che portiamo a compimento il piumaggio, fino al volo, quando qualcuno di essi cade dal nido; è caratteristico il loro rifiuto di cibo allorquando sono pronti a volare e si agitano moltissimo nella scatola da scarpe ove normalmente li riponiamo. L'abbrivio al primo volo viene facilitato 'lanciandoli' dal tetto di un alto edificio ed è' incredibile e emozionante osservare come, sempre, vengano immediatamente circondati da loro simili non appena raggiungono la giusta altezza
