Pozza di Okaukuejo. Ormai il grosso degli spettatori umani se ne è andato, rimaniamo in pochi.. Dopo un paio d'ore di bellissime scene con protagonisti i rinoceronti e gli elefanti, comprese lotte e scontri, ecco che una giraffa sembra molto titubante nel bere.... non rimane abbassata per più di un paio di secondi e sembra molto guardinga, tanto che dopo qualche minuto abbandona la scena senza aver bevuto! Faccio appena a tempo a chiedermi "chissà cos'ha sentito", che con la coda dell'occhio vedo un movimento nel buio: subito mi rendo conto che non si tratta di un altro rinoceronte, prendo il binocolo per scrutare il buio e.... eccoli! Due leoni si avvicinano al bordo della pozza lasciandosi appena lambire dalla luce! Emozione fortissima, la prima volta per me!
