Augusta ha un paio d'anni e vive a Barcis. Ha le palote ai piedini, zoccoletti di legno, e sta scappando con la famiglia verso il bosco. C'è la rappresaglia nazista, in poco tempo l'intero paese brucerà. Augusta non ha nemmeno dieci anni e assieme agli altri bambini deve andare in malga a piancavallo, soli e senza conoscere la strada ed ogni rumore un salto: le favole che ci raccontavano la sera "erano terribili, si divertivano i vecchi". Una storia familiare che è la storia di un paese, che sono le storie di un paesaggio che confini non ha. A breve spero di potervi raccontare, con la mia reflex e un po' di parole, la luce negli occhi di questa donna.
