Comete

The comet over the necropolis sent on October 14, 2024 (10:17) by Giancarlo Melis. 6 comments, 332 views. [retina]

at 16mm, 6 sec f/4.0, ISO 800, tripod.

Seeing the settings you certainly had problems with visibility on the horizon, I with the same settings and a smaller sensor I collected more details (but in a decidedly less beautiful location and with too many high voltage cables in between)
Even I am relatively disappointed, I expected better
That said, excellent composition!

Thank you.
Yes, probably the transparency was not the best, despite the sky being clear of clouds and there were no significant concentrations of suspended dust.
I could have also pushed with the processing, but it's not really worth it.
In any case, you can see the brightness of Venus, and of the stars (you can see the Corona borealis very well), if we make a comparison, we can deduce that the overall brightness of the comet is modest.

I fully agree with what Giancarlo Melis said, even I last night I wanted to try but with the naked eye I did not see anything despite excellent sky conditions you will have had to point the camera and try an exposure, anyone who defines this tennis ball comet of the century has never seen as it happened to me in February 1986 the comet of Halley a monster of brightness in the sky lasted 20 days, something wonderful, with modern cameras you just had to focus on the comet for half a second, and you saw something incredible in the monitor.

I didn't have the pleasure of admiring Halley's Comet, I wasn't 6 years old at the time.
However, I remember the Hyakutake and especially the Hale Bopp. I still have the videotape with Luigi Bignami's documentary, in which he talks about the discovery and the possibility that it will become a large comet visible to the naked eye.
