26'000 anni è quanto ci hanno messo i fotoni di luce provenienti da questa remota zona della Via Lattea, situata nella parte centro-meridionale della costellazione del Cigno, ad arrivare fino a noi. Un gran caos galattico quello che c'è all'intorno dell'oggetto SH2-99. Questa porzione di cielo si trova in uno dei bracci più importanti della nostra galassia ed è nella congiunzione tra le stelle Sadr ed Albireo. E' una ragione caotica con stelle giovani e calde pieno di nubi di idrogeno ionizzato dalla radiazione ultravioletta emessa da stelle di giovane formazione. I filamenti azzurri ed arancioni sono nubi intrecciate e ionizzate di gas di zolfo e ossigeno che creano sinuose figure geometriche simili a nuvole mentre le parti più scure sono formate da polvere interstellare che blocca i fotoni di luce provenienti dalle profondità del cosmo. Tutto intorno è denso di attività di incubazione stellare come si può notare nei tre punti più chiari della foto, circa nel mezzo, all'interno dei quali stanno attualmente nascendo delle stelle. La foto è una somma di 77 ore di pose ed è frutto della collaborazione tra Pineta1984 e Luca Barcaro (Astrodivers). Some details requested: it was the sum of about 77 hours of poses on the following days: from 26 to 30 July 2024 and from 11 to 17 August 2024 from the south of Spain.

- 16 exposures of 600 seconds for Red
