Le reti intrecciate sono il tipo più comune e antico di reti da pesca: i sundanesi hanno tramandato la tessitura delle reti da pesca di generazione in generazione per centinaia di anni. Realizzare una rete è un mestiere ben affinato che diventa più facile con la pratica, ma hai c'è bisogno di molto spazio, corda o spago e l'ago della giusta dimensione. Mabeda stava riparando le reti da pesca, fatte di nylon color smeraldo, più resistente delle fibre naturali e finemente intrecciate per intrappolare i pesci, ma purtroppo queste reti non sono biodegradabili.
