Uno scatto tanto pianificato quanto inaspettato! Per la sua realizzazione, pianificata lungo l'inverno del 2022, ricercavo il giusto periodo in cui, la posizione assunta dal centro galattico della Via Lattea, fosse verticale e orientata verso questa grande antenna. Grazie a @photopills, ho individuato il periodo per me comodo nel mese di luglio e così, arrivata l'estate del 2023, zaino in spalla, saliamo sul mio fuoristrada e partiamo. In compagnia della mia fidanzata, carici di adrenalina e in piena notte, raggiungiamo la ex Base Nato Troposcatter (oggi affidata ad un'Associazione di radioamatori). Questa si trova nei pressi di Monte Giogo, a 1520mt di altitudine sull'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano. Immersi in un clima surreale, suggestivo con le sue parabole di 20mt, nonché ricco di storia, inizio la mia fase di scatto. Ho spinto al massimo la Nikon D5600, costretto, vista l'assenza di un astro inseguitore, ad alzare gli ISO fino a 6400, pur di tirar fuori lo spettacolo che avevamo davanti! Un'infinità di stelle e colori, un centro galattico come mai visto prima, accostato a un'opera dell'uomo, così di vitale importanza durante la guerra fredda, così “inutile” ai giorni nostri. Immersi nella storia del luogo e in quello che è stato, abbiamo goduto di una fantastica notturna sotto il cielo stellato.
