Il lemure dalla fronte rossa (Eulemur rufifrons) è endemico delle foreste tropicali secche del Madagascar occidentale e delle foreste di pianura e di montagna del Madagascar orientale. Discreto dimorfismo sessuale nella colorazione del mantello: i maschi hanno il corpo grigio-marrone e le femmine marrone-rossiccio. Il suo stato di conservazione è classificato “Vulnerabile” in quanto minacciato dalla perdita dell'habitat e dalla caccia; è infatti una delle specie di lemuri più frequentemente cacciata, con popolazioni in forte declino.
