Acireale è un borgo d'una bellezza tanto esuberante da resistere alle piccole e grandi trascuratezze di cui il Sud è ancora vittima. E' qui che incontro questo Maestro Forgiatore di lunghissimo corso, che mi conduce alla sua Bottega. Per raggiungerla scendiamo dall'altopiano su cui giace la città, un terrazzo sul blu intenso della Costa dei Ciclopi. Precipitiamo giù per vie strette in una terra scura figlia del Vulcano, qui dove ogni fiore o pianta sembra poter germogliare. Mi racconta della sua passione febbrile per il ferro, che non lo abbandona ancora oggi e ha animato ogni suo giorno, segnando anche le amicizie raccolte tra quei Fabbri che costituiscono una vera e propria comunità, legati da una fratellanza profonda e autentica ovunque il destino li faccia incontrare per le strade del mondo.
