La nebulosa "Trifida" (M20) nella costellazione del Sagittario. E' una nebulosa ad emissione (la parte che dente al rosso tipica delle lunghezze d0nda dell'idrogeno) e una parte a riflessione (le parti tendenti al colore azzurro). Questo batuffolo di polveri e gas è situato in una zona della via lattea particolarmente ricca di stelle, posizionata in prossimità dell'arco del Sagittario, se si considerano i moderni asterismi. Questa nebulosa, che può essere già intravista con un binocolo, dista da noi circa 5.000 anni luce, ed è posizionata più internamente nella via lattea rispetto alla nostra posizione. L'immagine è stata ottenuta integrando 30 scatti da 10 secondi ciascuno, più 100 scatti da 2 minuti ciascuno per un totale di quasi 3 ore e mezza di esposizione. La strumentazione utilizzata è sempre la stessa: Celestron RASA 8 (400mm f/2) e la camera ASI 183 MC-Pro, ma stavolta, considerando la posizione bassa sull'orizzonte, e le luci dell'interland di Cagliari, ho usato un filtro a banda larga anti inquinamento.
