Questa è la Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista nonché chiesa parrocchiale di Bistagno ( AL ). Il paese fu sede vescovile dal 1250 circa fino alla fine del XIV secolo, rifugio dei presuli acquesi che trovarono protezione all'interno del concentrico di forma triangolare ( già perché la caratteristica di Bistagno è proprio quella di avere la pianta del centro storico a forma triangolare ben visibile dalle foto aeree ed in altri miei scatti presenti in altre mie gallerie qua su Juza ! ) difeso da mura. Bistagno ha anche dato i natali a Giuseppe Saracco noto politico della fine XIX secolo e a Giulio Monteverde, scultore neoclassico di fama a cui è stata dedicata una gipsoteca contente molti calchi delle sue opere. Una di esse ( ritraente una Madonna con il bambino ) è custodita proprio qui in questa chiesa. La parrocchiale di San Giovanni Battista, di forme barocche possiede un campanile romanico-gotico ed ha al suo interno tre navate dove conserva la balaustra, l'altr maggiore e il coro ligneo della stessa epoca.
