Noto che non ti spingi mai oltre F8 e anzi sei quasi sempre ad aperture tra 5,6 - 6,3 e 7,1:
Nei primi test che ho fatto (su 40D) effettivamente la caduta di nitidezza da F8 in su è visibile, e la diffrazione spadroneggia a F16-22 (spero non sia un problema per le tipiche foto dalla riva del mare con filtri e aperture tra 11-22 x ottenere mare e nubi mosse ed estesissima PdC).
Pare che la max nitidezza al centro sia a F4-4,5, ma il miglior compromesso considerando AC, Vignettatura e nitid. dei bordi sta proprio alle aperture che usi tu, spec. 6,3 - 7,1...

Questa è una regola che vale un pò per tutte le lenti, ancor di più laddove abbiamomacchine dotati di sensori molto densi. Rimane il fatto che, quando avevo la Canon 7d, il 15-85mm fosse il miglior obiettivo che avessi mai provato, forse il migliore in assoluto (parlando di zoom ovviamente) su APS-C.
