Nice foggy atmosphere that suits this type of subject well! I find the photo a bit "soft" due to lack of sharpness: I don't know where you focused, but the first tree on the left would be the ideal candidate! ;-)

Beautiful image thanks to the atmosphere that you captured in the shot and that is created thanks to the colors (is it a BN?).
As Alberto says, however, I find that it is actually not well in focus and that you can also see artifacts in the whole shadow area of the undergrowth, as if the image were a crop a little too much of a larger image.
Have a nice day,
Alessandro.

Good morning everyone and thanks for the comments. I've only just discovered the column, but it's just what I was looking for. Comments that help me understand what's wrong. The artifacts are definitely due to an imprecise use of the brush to lighten the shadows and I can work on that. On the focus I can try to figure out where the original focus was because in fact the photo is dated and I don't remember the circumstances of the shot. The original is in color but the colors are very soft, so I tried to turn it into a B&W. I was probably "dazzled" by the atmosphere without worrying too much about the other parameters. Anyway thank you very much. Compliments are always welcome, but constructive criticism certainly helps more.

PS. It's not a crop.
