I'm still very undecided about which is the best solution for this kind of shots, the 400mm with the teleconverter become dark but the 600mm requires a crop too pushed to give the same result! Unfortunately in Nikon over 400mm there are not many bright choices that do not cost an exaggeration and it is a real shame!
