Complimenti buon documento naturalistico ben ripreso e gestito.
Un saluto Franco Cool

Particular captured prey, in fact the hippos do not fall in the customary diet of the lion, but probably hunger drives them to deal with them.
Congratulations good document naturalistic well taken and managed.
Greetings Franco 8-)

Gran bella situazione e buona foto.
Dove l' hai scattata ?

Very good situation and good photos.
Where 's have taken?
I find it hard to believe that a lion could have kicked a hippopotamus for no other marks on the skin, at least in the part that you see, I think it is easier than the 'have found already dead for other reasons ..

Eeeek!!!

Personally I agree with Memy, the scene shows no signs of obvious confrontation, which would suggest a different kind of death by predation. I suppose you've ever done on the spot to play, if only because otherwise you would have posted a shot of the fight hehe. However it must be said that in some parts of Africa there are groups of lions "specialize" in particular such hunts. Etosha. But I am not aware that this happens even in the Serengeti. Trivia: In what period was this photo taken? Then, it was the Serengeti or the Masai Mara?

wow!

yes it was killed, this was the alpha male with it's trophy. Other side shows belly and chest chewed out, one male did a caesarian section and carried baby off.I have photos of the gory stuff. All in the Masai Mara.

... e allora mostracele, le altre foto, ché a noi ci piacciono le scene violente.

MrGreen
