Particolare la preda catturata, infatti gli ippopotami non rientrano nella dieta abituale del leone, ma probabilmente la fame li spinge ad affrontarli.

Faccio fatica a pensare che un leone possa avere cacciato un ippopotamo che per altro non ha segni sulla pelle, almeno nella parte che si vede, credo sia più facile che l' abbia trovato già morto per altre ragioni..

Personalmente concordo con Memy, la scena non presenta tracce evidenti di scontro, il che farebbe supporre una morte diversa dalla predazione. Immagino tu sia capitato sul posto a giochi fatti, se non altro perché in caso contrario avresti pubblicato uno scatto della lotta eheh. Tuttavia c'è da dire che in alcune zone dell'Africa esistono gruppi di leoni "specializzati" in cacce particolari es. a Etosha. Ma non mi risulta che ciò avvenga anche nel Serengeti. Curiosità: in che periodo è stata scattata questa foto? Poi, era il Serengeti o il Masai Mara?
Personally I agree with Memy, the scene shows no signs of obvious confrontation, which would suggest a different kind of death by predation. yes it was killed, this was the alpha male with it's trophy. Other side shows belly and chest chewed out, one male did a caesarian section and carried baby off.I have photos of the gory stuff. All in the Masai Mara. |
