Il Corriere del Madagascar è una rara specie endemica che si trova lungo le coste occidentali e meridionali dell'isola. È un piccolo corriere con dorso marrone, parti inferiori chiare e fascia nera sul petto. Disegno della testa caratteristico, con una striscia nera oculare e un'altra frontale. Simile al Corriere di Kittlitz, che però è privo della fascia pettorale. Il suo habitat sono i campi aperti con erba corta e le adiacenti distese fangose costiere. Si comporta come un tipico corriere, correndo incessantemente sul terreno alla ricerca di cibo. La maggior parte della popolazione di questa specie si trova solo in aree remote e disabitate ma è tuttavia in importante nel declino (classificata “Vulnerabile” nella lista rossa IUCN).
