Chamois è un comune italiano sparso della Valtournenche, valle laterale della Valle d'Aosta. È l'unico comune d'Italia, sulla terraferma, non raggiungibile in automobile, ma solo in funivia con partenza da Buisson, a piedi tramite la mulattiera "les Seingles" da Buisson, mediante una strada poderale semi-pianeggiante da La Magdeleine, oppure nell'altiporto con piccoli aeroplani. La circolazione di auto e moto è vietata sul territorio comunale: per questa sua caratteristica e per la particolare attenzione a favorire un turismo a mobilità dolce, Chamois è stato inserito nel consorzio delle Perle delle Alpi.
