Un'iride nel cielo formatasi 1400 anni fa in continua espansione. I suoi petali blu misurano, da parte a parte, circa 6 anni luce. Una nebulosa non esageratamente grande, anzi, abbastanza piccola, ma che, per le dimensioni ed in numeri a quali siamo abituati, è decisamente grande. Per dare un'idea in km, la parte bluastra misura da parte 56'764 miliardi di km e non è nient'altro che un puntino minuscolo in una porzione minuscola del cielo, individuabile solamente attraverso accurati puntamenti motorizzati del telescopio. Essa fa parte della costellazione del Cefeo ed è visibile in tutto l'emisfero boreale (Nord), raggiunge la sua massima altezza fra i mesi di Agosto e Novembre. Questa nebulosa riflette la luce delle sue stelle vicine e, la sua colorazione decisamente verso il blu è proprio dovuta alla sua stella centrale chiamata HD 200775 che si trova attorniata dalle sue polveri interstellari (le macchie più scure) che bloccano la luce visibile. Vi sono anche dei filamenti rossastri che vengono illuminati dalla fotoluminescenza causata dall'intensa radiazione ultravioletta che questa stella, giovane ed ardente, emette. La foto è stata scattata tra i mesi di Ottobre e Novembre 2023 ed è la somma di 54,15 ore di fotografie. La foto è frutto di una collaborazione tra Pineta1984 e Luca Barcaro (Astrodivers).
