Il genere Coua annovera 10 diverse specie di grandi cuculi, per lo più terrestri, endemici del Madagascar. Il Coua crestato (Coua cristata) è una specie arboricola dalla coda lunga, con parti superiori grigie e inferiori chiare. Come tutti i Coua, ha un area di pelle nuda dai colori vivaci attorno all'occhio. Si trova in tutti i tipi di foreste a quote basse e medie e si sposta tra un albero e un altro compiendo solo brevi voli. Ifaty spiny forest, Novembre 2023.
