Pochi giorni da quando sono arrivate le prime piogge sono bastati a trasformare e a colorare il paesaggio del Serengeti. L'erba secca e gialla della savana si è tinta di mille sfumature di verde, più intenso vicino a dove, come qui, sullo sfondo, c'è un corso d'acqua. All'acqua vengono ad abbeverarsi gli animali e le possibili prede di questa femmina di ghepardo che, insieme ad uno dei suoi tre cuccioloni abbiamo seguito per un po' mentre si apprestavano a cacciare. A tratti li vedevamo, poi si infilavano nell'erba alta e diventavano invisibili, salvo riapparire più avanti, fino a sorprendere un giovane impala.
