Proseguo la serie delle foto del mio recente viaggio in Madagascar con questa singolare specie appartenente ad una famiglia di passeriformi endemici, i Philepittidae. La colorata caruncola faciale è presente solo nel maschio. L'Asity di Schlegel è rara e classificata minacciata. Solo piccole popolazioni frammentate e localizzate vivono nelle foreste decidue della parte nord-occidentale dell'isola. Come si può intuire dai parametri tecnici la situazione di scatto nel buio della foresta era al limite e la qualità della foto ne risente un po', tuttavia il soggetto è davvero particolare e straordinario.
