In a thread I visited today you asked for candid comments, even if they were to be harsh. Since you ask, I'll try to satisfy you, for what are my judgments and for what are my tastes:a) the sky is too bright b) the street lights cut ... brrrr c) the lines of the side buildings diverge (yet you had the tripod) In una discussione che ho visitato oggi hai richiesto commenti sinceri, anche se dovessero essere duri.

I understand the message of the sky and I think it's easy in post production. For the street lamps, mea culpa. I often focus on something that I want to reproduce in the photo and I lose sight of the outline which then makes the photo unsatisfactory. Of the three comments, the problem of divergent lines is the one that catches me most unprepared. As I said before, I focused on the jets (moreover they change color over time and I was looking for the moment when the colors were different, the most beautiful one for me) and I chose what I thought was the best shooting point (for the jets). And I didn't notice the divergence. I'll do some tests to see how to correct it in the future, but I don't think you can find a shot that combines everything. Maybe I'm wrong, I'll try'. Thanks Alvar for the constructive comments. Forse sbaglio, provero' . Grazie Alvar per i costruttivi commenti. |

“ the problem of divergent lines is the one that catches me most unprepared „ You can avoid divergent (or converging) lines essentially in two ways:a) in the shooting phase by putting the camera perfectly at level (if the tripod is feasible, by hand it is hard) b) in the post phase with a special software (which, however, no matter how well done, it can't by definition be equivalent to a shot already done well: it makes you lose a bit) For example DxO ViewPoint (from their website you can download the trial). Or with the old PTLens plugin. I use a tool from Paint Shop Pro for these corrections, which corrects perspective. |
