Il monastero basiliano di San Giovanni Theristis a Bivongi (RC) è un'enclave di bizantinità in terra di Calabria. L'iconostasi, lo splendido lampadario e le icone delle Madonne a sfondo dorato sono semi di grecità che han messo profonde radici tra gli impervi e solitari declivi della Vallata dello Stilaro. In questo scatto, uno ieromonaco, al termine della liturgia, si appresta ad abbondare il tempio ammantato dalla luce del mattino che, come in un abbraccio mistico, ne rende diafano il bianco mantello. I fasci di luce, provenienti dalle grandi aperture e fendenti la scena dall'alto verso il basso in maniera decisa, accrescono l'aura di sacralità che il luogo ed il personaggio di per sé evocano.
