Dimensioni del dittero: circa 1cm; fs di circa 40 scatti; RR 5x; luce naturale. Molto somigliante alle api, in realtà è un dittero (mosca). Molto utile in natura in quanto impollinatore; le sue larve si nutrono di insetti nocivi, specie afidi e vengono utilizzate nella lotta biologica. Purtroppo si registra, come per le api, una moria che non ha spiegazioni del tutto convincenti.
