La luce del tramonto conferisce una tonalità dorata al marmo di Candoglia con cui è costruito il Duomo. In questo tipo di foto ci si dovrebbe collocare in asse con la navata centrale della chiesa. Però, nel caso specifico, il pennone al centro si sarebbe sovrapposto visivamente al monumento a Vittorio Emanuele e al finestrone centrale della facciata. Quindi ho preferito collocarmi qualche metro a destra; nonostante la controindicazione che così la simmetria non sia perfetta. Lo si nota osservando la posizione della Guglia Centrale rispetto alla cuspide; e anche quelle del monumento e dei pennoni. Sull'orlo inferiore sono, in controluce, le foglie delle palme e dei banani che suscitano tante polemiche fin da quando sono stati piantumati e che probabilmente presto verranno rimossi; perlomeno lo spero, soprattutto i banani che evidentemente soffrono il nostro clima e molti sono ormai secchi (le palme invece resistono decisamente meglio).
