Mi trovavo in fondo alla Valnontey, in prossimità del ponte “delle sorgenti”, intento ad ammirare due stambecchi sperando si abbassassero quel tanto per poterli fotografare quando, improvvisamente, ho sentito come cadere dei grossi massi: dalla parete di fronte sono letteralmente carambolati dall'alto due stambecchi che si stavano inseguendo trascinando con loro neve e pietre! Il tempo di spostarmi di qualche metro per prendere la macchina fotografica ed imboccare il ponte nell'intenzione di provare ad avvicinarmi quando, dalla parte opposta dello stesso, appare lui, trafelato ed affannato: qualche secondo fissandoci reciprocamente da un lato all'altro del piccolo ponte, dopodiché il camoscio, con la stessa velocità con la quale è arrivato, è tornato sui suoi passi lanciandosi nel torrente nuovamente inseguito dal rivale. La foto, scattata con un obiettivo troppo lungo ed a distanza troppo breve, pur priva di qualunque velleità artistica, vuol comunque rappresentare l'emozione di quegli attimi….
