130 milioni di anni fa, il Roero era un mare della Provincia di Cuneo. Siamo a nord di Alba, dove il fiume Tanaro scorre determinato tra le colline sedimentate nel corso degli anni, oggi Patrimonio Mondiale UNESCO assieme a Langhe e Monferrato. In un fazzoletto di terra piemontese, tre grandi territori che hanno consacrato l'Italia ai vertici della produzione vitivinicola qualitativa mondiale. La zona del Roero comprende poco meno di 20 comuni, in cui si producono una grande varietà di vini, che diventano iconici nella omonima DOCG istituita nei primi anni duemila. Su tutti spiccano il Roero e il Roero Arneis, vere anime di questo territorio, che oltre alla vocazione vitivinicola offre terre adatte alla coltivazione di frutteti, castagneti e noccioleti. Senza dimenticare che questa è una delle zone più appropriate per la ricerca del pregiato tartufo bianco.
