at 500mm, 1/2500 f/7.1, ISO 400, hand held. Yellowstone National Park, United States.

Sempre speciale poter assistere a queste scene. Ale

Congratulations!
I have a question about the shot. Did you shoot him with a freezing rocket and photograph him from a standstill? :-or
Otherwise, how do you aim, aim and hit a coyote in flight?
I suspect the technique is similar to the one used for cetaceans in flight (you take 300 photos, and in the end you come up with 5 decent ones).

Hello!
Thank you very much. The coyote was on the hunt. I had it in my sights. Unfortunately at that time it was right behind quite tall bushes. I set AF only on the back button and not on the shutter button, so in order not to lose it completely because I had seen that it was about to jump, I manually focused on it but only to help the AF in case of jumping.
As soon as I saw it jump I pressed AF again and burst to 20fps. This is the high point of the jump. But thanks to the new ultra-fast AF you can get pretty good results. The photos taken are all in focus. Maybe a little less. Before this frame there are 3 more. I miss the moment just before the deadlift, but never mind! ;-)

Super-concentrated, every muscle and every sense instrumental to hunting. Magnificent.

Very nice, congratulations!
On R5 and R6 I almost never use the electronic shutter for fear of rolling shutter but I think I'm exaggerating a lot! :-D

Thank you all!
Massimo, on birds in flight, very fast, you notice something but only if you compare two images one after the other.
Otherwise, he may look slightly chubby. Sure... If there are trees behind them, they seem to be bent in two. But on subjects like this, there are no problems!
Greetings!

Same technique as foxes with voles. You bravura seized the highlight of the leap, bravo.
Bye gios ;-)
