Fra tutti gli insetti forse la mantide è quella che mi affascina di più perché è molto "simile" ai predatori mammiferi: ha la testa orientabile e le "pupille" mobili, pianifica agguati micidiali e ha molta forza. Non è molto simpatico il fatto che spesso prima o dopo l'accoppiamento la femmina mangia il maschio. In che senso "prima"? Talvolta la femmina durante l'accoppiamento mangia la testa del maschio che continua a copulare attivamente ... anche in questo c'è similitudine con i maschi umani che come è noto hanno due cervelli che guidano i loro desideri! Non saprei dire se tira di più il cervello dislocato più in basso o quello più in alto ...
