Dopo circa due anni e mezzo di osservazione, appostamenti per la maggior parte falliti, freddo, pioggia, caldo, giornate e ore infinite il più delle volte senza mai vedere nulla, trovo un punto dove autocostruire un capanno alla meglio, e finalmente riesco a fotografare la mia coppia da distanza ravvicinata, senza che lei si accorga minimamente della mia presenza. Dico la mia coppia per il semplice motivo che è grazie a questi due esemplari che mi sono appassionato, o meglio ossessionato dell'aquila reale. Animale unico, maestoso, con uno sguardo magnetico. Parlo sempre della mia coppia perchè ci tengo a precisare che son state loro a farsi vedere, con il loro giovane appena involato, per la prima volta; io manco sapevo ci fosse l'aquila reale nella mia zona (Nord Sardegna). Da quel giorno ho dedicato moltissimo del mio tempo libero a conoscere e capire questo splendido rapace, e con i consigli giusti son riuscito dopo tanta fatica, a riprendere il maschio della coppia, che mi ha regalato tre giorni tra i più emozionanti della mia vita. Cito una frase di Davide Nicola (allenatore serie A), che mi ha aiutato quando nei giorni di sconforto non avvistavo nulla, e credevo di buttare via del tempo: "Se non sarà oggi, sarà domani, fra un mese, fra un anno, fra cinque anni; chi riesce a perseverare nel tempo, e con una sana ambizione e una sana lealtà, prima o dopo raggiunge le cose" Aquila reale Maschio Nord Sardegna
