You did a great job, I like it that way even if I don't know the original. I notice an excellent definition and also three-dimensionality of the subjects.
Congratulations! ;-)

had thought of posting the original but I could not insert it in the Comments.
Beautiful.

Thanks John.

The photo is beautiful, but I personally see better a sepia toning, without retouching anything, the beauty of the photo is in its antiquity. (Entirely personal opinion)
Greetings
Mario ;-)

I also had many doubts and perplexities. In the end I thought that the alternatives were
1) Just take a shot on the original even if quite deteriorated, perhaps using the technique of the 'rigatino' of the restorers of paintings (more philological option) 2) Restore as
much as possible using digital techniques and leave the original sepia color (not very philological)
3) Create a new photo and 'digitize' the past.
In the end I instinctively chose the third, aware of the false history, to get an enjoyable photo. But the original photo is there, I will definitely try the first two options too :-)

I agree with Carlo; I recovered many of them in the same way (and with the same goal).
Beautiful, a touch of history .... Housewife.

This is fine as you did it, I for an old photo of my father, which I had restored to perfection, then I decided to publish it as it was in original including scratches, it seemed more beautiful, so it depends on the photo, however very good, saludos, giuseppe

Was it because it was much closer to the memory of your Old Man? :-)
I, of course, have never met these gentlemen...
Thanks for liking and good we.

Your photo is a beautiful example of black and white but it is a group photo a single restored half-length portrait remains more artificial the signs of time give it a more authentic look (if they are the original ones :-P ), have a nice weekend

It is not at all excluded that you are right :-)
I will try the other alternatives.
Greetings again.

A shot that proposes an era.
Your recent ancestors.
Beautiful image that takes us back in time.
For the recovery you have performed I find it well done with nice b /
w.These recoveries lend themselves to more than one interpretation and yours convinces me.
