il Simal è il punto più alto del sentiero delle Orobie (2.712 m)- la vista è spettacolare sulle Alpi Orobie e sull'Adamello in secondo piano. Il sentiero si sviluppa su 84 km con partenza dalla frazione Valcanale (Ardesio) per finire al passo della Presolana - altri sentiero in quota sono le Orobie occidentale dislocate sulla valle Brembana - da questo punto alcuni tratti attrezzati portano alla discesa sul rifugio Coca (qui sono salito da Valbondione con una "sparata" di 1.950 m di dislivello -
