Glaucopsyche alexis (Poda, 1761) - Famiglia Lycaenidae - Sottofamiglia Polyommatinae - Apertura alare: Da 2,2 a 3,4 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutte le regioni, isole comprese, ad eccezione della Sardegna. - Habitat: Boschi chiari, ampie radure e cespuglieti, dalla pianura sino a 2000 m. - Periodo di volo: Univoltina da aprile ai primi di luglio secondo la quota. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Varie piante dei generi Astragalus, Melilotus, Medicago, Trifolium, Cytisus e Onobrychis. - Dimorfismo sessuale: Femmina con diritto marrone. - Variazioni: Alcune popolazioni producono femmine con un ampio azzurramento alla base del diritto delle ali. Gli esemplari di questa specie possono presentare notevoli variazioni nelle dimensioni delle ali con casi di nanismo sia nei maschi che nelle femmine. -
