Secondo me è un risultato eccellente.
Un tempo (a pellicola) ottenere queste immagini era di una complessità incredibile. Oltre al fatto che non c'erano a livello amatoriale equatoriali così a buon mercato, esse non erano nemmeno controllabili con autoguida, la meccanica era così così e la stabilità appena decente. Si doveva guidare manualmente agendo sui controlli motorizzati (se c'erano), inquadrando una stella ad alto ingrandimento con un oculare graduato mantenendola il più possibile dentro. Il risultato era al più passabile.
Oggi la meccanica delle equatoriali amatoriali e i sistemi di controllo-attuazione hanno fatto passi da gigante. Il tutto unito alla capacità di elaborazione dei files ad incrementare il S/N ratio, e mediare rumore, consente ai bravi astroimagers di ottenere queste meraviglie, un tempo nemmeno alla portata degli osservatori.
Ecco quello dell'astrofotografia a lunga posa è un campo in cui il digitale ha davvero portato una ventata di freschezza.
